I was watching the news this morning and noticed that because of last night's snow storm some of the Meals on Wheels places were closed today due to the weather. Well, it got me thinking....
If you have a neighbor or someone you know that has these meals delivered, it would be very easy to help them out. You could take them a sandwich and a piece of fruit, or if you made a pot of soup or stew, put some in a container and take it over to them. With all the hoopla of everyone eating too much and eating too big portions, it would be pretty easy to stretch your meal a little further to help someone out.
Plus, even if they had their meals delivered that day, it would be a very welcome treat for them, plus give the two of you a chance to "visit a spell." The best stories I have heard in my lifetime have always come from our senior citizens.
