Who will you vote for, if it comes down to these two?

This would be a difficult choice in a good way.
I'm gonna wait until the primaries are over and the convention arrives to decide this, but there are pluses and minuses on both sides. Either way, I wouldn't feel too bad about the outcome. Certainly not a bad as I have over the last 20 years or so.

I think I would have to vote for McCain.

I wonder if the GOP found the only way they defeat the Dems after 8 years of a rough partisan administration. If Senator McCain goes against Senator Clinton they can use his work with the other 11 Dems and Reps to control the nomination issues in the Senate during the Harriet Myers appointment to show he can build bi-partisan concensus. His record of service and leadership will easily be seen as at least equal to hers. All of this without as complicated a past.
If Senator Obama is nominated they can play the experience card. And since they pole similarly with the independents it would be about issues more than mudslinging and partisan bickering. I mean when you look at who seems Presidential I would think McCain can hold his own.
I, like you, just hope the masses of people who have turned out in record numbers keep their eye on the ball regardless of who is nominated. I'd love a general election where significantly more than 50% of the elidgable voters turned out.
BTW, general shout out to everyone who is over or will be 18 within the next 6 months, get registered and lets make this a banner year for democracy. We've spent a lot of blood an treasure trying to export it, let's try leading by example!
