For those interested in sky gazing, there will be a full lunar eclipse tonight. It will begin around 9:30 p.m. through midnight, with the full eclipse occurring between 10:01 p.m. and 10:51 p.m. The next one will not occur until 2010.
The weather forecasters are predicting somewhat clear skies so we should be able to witness this. But bundle up warm, because it's going to be VERY COLD outside!

I just may let my son take a nap when he gets home from school, so he can stay up and watch. I think he will get a big kick out of it!

Great Idea, Tiger Fan! I think your son would really think it is cool and who knows? It may spark quite an interest in him about science, astronomy, and the like.

I am so ready for this. So often when this good stuff comes around there's clouds. I don't care if it's 10 below, I'm not missing it.

It was freezing (!@!!) outside, but worth watching. I always find that kind of thing fascinating!

We did come in and out of the house three times during it. Great cup of cocoa around 11:30 too.
What a wonderful view. The oranges and reds were awesome.
The chance to see Saturn this time of year was cool too. I can never find it without the Moon to point the way.
Then when it was all over the moon looked so white, especially as the shadow was waning. I guess it's always that white, but it seemed more so because of all the colors.

It was a great sight to watch! Anyone that missed it will have to wait until 2010. But never fail, the news web sites have some pictures.
