West of Grand Traverse, all the way to Lake Michigan, lies Benzie County. Originally the hub of the lumbering industry in northwestern Michigan, it is now known primarily for its beauty and recreational opportunities.
Lakes and rivers abound in Benzie County and draw millions of visitors each year to partake in activities such as fishing, sailing, hiking, biking, golfing, skiing, horseback riding, and gliding.
I actually know a family that lives in Benzie and moved there from Belleville about 7 years ago. They love it there in their well-deserved retirement!
