Otsego county is located in the northern lower peninsula and is traversed by Interstate 75.

The county contains 516 square miles of land, of which approximately 12% is farmland.

The first settlers came to the county in the mid 1800’s for the purpose of lumbering the large white pines and the hardwoods here, today the county has a varied industry and a very well established tourist industry.

The county seat is Gaylord (http://www.infomi.com/city/gaylord/), also the largest city in the county, with the other incorporated village in the county being Vanderbilt (http://www.infomi.com/city/vanderbilt/).
