Word of a redo had better cost the Party and not the State.

Howard Dean alluded to the fact that the states would have to bear the brunt of the cost of another vote. He said this on Good Morning America this morning. Jerk.

After their poor decision making, it is, in my mind, the State Party's responsibility to pay for this. The State of Michigan already ran a primary in good faith. The Michigan Dems should foot the bill. It was their decision to challange the National Party and they knew what the response from them would be.

It certainly explains why Dean was dumped fast and furious when HE was running for President!

Any, and all re-dos, should not cost the taxpayers of either Michigan or Florida one bloody cent! The Democratic Party (both in the states and at the national level) knew what they were doing. The taxpayers paid for the one that was required. Now that they want to "use" both Michigan/Florida delegates...someone besides the taxpayers of these two states should pay for it. (They have enough of their own money and power to do it.)
Just don't waste any more of my money!

"They" are talking about a caucus here in Michigan. I think that would be a disaster because the state is not familiar with holding a caucus.
I think we should all write to our governor demanding that she stand up the DNC and count our delegates and votes as already voted. She should not settlement for a caucus or another primary and she should DEMAND that our delegates be seated at the convention (Florida as well).
We cannot afford the cost of another election and it seems like Granholm is already waivering. I think I like the Florida governor better. He's like 'what the ----.' I like that guy.
Why should the DNC care when we held our primary? What difference does it make?
The Democratic Party is handing the new presidency over to the Republicans. Who would have thought this was possible after 8 years of GW?

On top of all that, I don't know how they will make this fair. It wasn't fair to tell the candidates to remove themselves from the ballot then give the delegates to those who violated that ban. Neither is it fair to throw the votes away and have a do over. What about the people who bothered to cast ballots in good faith the first time? Shouldn't their votes count somehow if any Michigan votes do?
I can't see where there is any good answer to this at this time. Maybe someone can come up with something.

You're right, Jeff---it's a lose, lose situation. Obama will complain because he wasn't on the ballot (he could have left his name on there---Hillary did). Plus, the undecided votes were supposed to go to him or Edwards or whomever.
It is definitely NOT fair to have another vote nor can we afford to foot the bill for another primary. I really hate the idea of a caucus, because I can see it being a shambles due to lack of experience in having a caucus.
