Here we are now in 2008. We all see a lot of things going on in the world around us and this country that greatly concern the majority of the population (according to studies).

1) Climate change
2) The economy (some speculate a recession in 2008)
3) Super diseases
4) Health care
5) Pollution
6) Crime

The list goes on and on and on

Many people feel this world is just heading in the direction of self destruct

Personally I have my own beliefs as to why things are the way they are and what the future holds, but am curious to know the thoughts of the rest of you.

So, what are your thought, feelings and or beliefs as to where humanity is heading? Please do share.

I've been doin a lot of cable watchin lately and thinkin

Seems as though the world is watching to see what happens with this country and in particular this upcoming presidential election

For as far back as people in this world can remember the United States has been a symbol of not only power but hope as well

Now with the United States appearing to be stumbling the world can't help but be concerned

Some in other countries seem to believe that they can manage without the US economy were it to go under

So, the question is whether or not things are going to get better or continue to get worse and if so what does that really mean for this country and the rest of the world

Now it's being said that the weak dollar is causing the oil prices to rise

People are arguing over whether this country is in a recession or not

Some say this country is headed for the worst recession since World War ll

Many things aren't looking to good right now

I can't help but be curious of regardless what person wins the presidency of what they will be able to do to change the direction of the way things are now going in this country

Is it a political change that's needed?

Perhaps it's a cultural change

A change in thinking and or attitude on the part of everyone

Or, is it all of the above?
