I understand the importance of restricting Some Information .to the People. Contract Negotiations, Legal strategies, etc..When should we be kept out of the loop.Should memos or e-mails to or from the Mayor and Council, City Manager, or Department Heads be considered "off limits" to the Public. If it concerns the taxpayers money or an issue that directly effects the general population . Do our elected officials have the right to hide or keep an idea or request from us They are our voice to our employees and Management.
Nobody can deny Memos and conversations in and around City Hall have become Public knowledge by the people that are employed or people that deal with the city on a regular basis. Is it Alright to not to let the people know they may want to spend an amount of taxpayer money that does not require a vote by M/C. Should anyone working for us,or elected by us have a right to privacy in their Public capacity.Unless it is a legal decision or would affect a legal matter.
Basically, do our Public emloyees and elected have a resposibility to be open with the people they work for. Should they be able to keep their actions or requests from the people. Just curious.
