Why is it so difficult for the Ordinance Officers to write a PRIDE ticket to a homeowner?
I am told if a home has tall grass or icy sidewalks, the Ordinance Officer has to
1. Determine who owns the home
2. Determine if the owner lives in the home
3. If the owner does not live in the house being cited, they have to send the ticket to his/her place of residence.
This takes time. Perhaps not a great length of time, but it is time consuming.
This is what I do not understand. On trash day, the Ordinance Officer drives down the streets and whatever vehicles are parked on the street get a ticket. The ticket is placed on the vehicle
Why don't they have to investigate who owns the vehicle and whether or not the owner is actually driving the vehicle?
If they can put a ticket on a vehicle, why can't they leave a ticket at the house.
If the home has a Renter, TOO BAD.
If we do not care a vehicle is being driven by someone other than the owner, why do we care if the person living in the house is the actual owner?
I do have a theory. I think one of the reasons is we have too many elected officials and city employees with rental property. They have ensured there is enough bureacracy involved in the process so that they can avoid getting a PRIDE ticket for their rental property.
