What do you think about all the recent press about Michelle Obama and Cindy McCain?
Michelle Obama is used to be able to say whatever she wants and she needs to learn that will be over for a while if Obama succeeds in getting into the White House.
Cindy McCain seems unapproachable. I wonder at the wisdom of the visit to Vietnam as the first visit where "she lets her hair down," because too many people believe that Iraq is another Vietnam.
What do you think???

It sure seems complicated for both. Cindy is from a traditional background and seems to have been familiar with the potential to damage her husbands political campaign for some time. On the other hand, her life background also seems eerily familiar to Heinz-Kerry's which was a bit of a detriment to Kerry during the last campaign.
Overall, I don't think the spouse is a clincher for most people. Look at Lady Bird vs. Mamie Eisenhower. As much difficulty

EMUJeff,
I agree about the familiarity between Cindy McCain and Heinz-Kerry.
Whether you like Bush or not, I believe Laura Bush is the quintessential First Lady. She learned well from her mother-in-law, Barbara Bush.

Laura Bush is just a class act. No doubt.

I visited my family in KY this past weekend, and my youngest son Eric & Cheryl still have the Hillary Clinton for President sign in their front yard. They said they are not ready to take it down yet!
My 10-year old granddaughter commented that they needed to get over it---LOL.
