Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today said that the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 signed into law this morning by the president will help Michigan families facing foreclosure, stabilize credit markets, and prevent further decline of property values.

Michigan really needs this help.

There looking at saving the homes of 400,000 of the two million expected to lose theirs over the next couple of years. This is a sound start. Mostly this will aid people who otherwise would have the good credit and financial wherewithall to keep up a more reputable mortgage. Certainly a worthwhile goal.
