I am curious as to what candidates the members of this site have voted for President.

I cast my first vote for President in1956. Back then you had to be 21 to vote. I was 18 in 1952 and unable to vote

1956 - Dwight Eisenhower - Republican - Winner
1960 - John Kennedy - Democrat - Winner
1964 - Lyndon Johnson - Democrat - Winner
1968 - Hubert Humphrey - Democrat - Loser
1972 - George Wallace - Independent - Loser
1976 - Jimmy Carter - Democrat - Winner
1980 - John Anderson - Independent - Loser
1984 - Ronald Reagan - Republican - Winner
1988 - George Bush - Republican - Winner
1992 - Bill Clinton - Democrat - Winner
1996 - Ross Perot - Independent - Loser
2000 - Al Gore - Democrat - Loser
2004 - George W. Bush - Winner

13 Elections and I voted for 8 winners. Quite a record.

Looking back, I am embarrassed that I voted for Al Gore. What was I thinking? Same with voting for John Anderson rather than for Ronald Reagan for his first term.

I am proud to say I never voted for Richard Nixon on any of his three Presidential elections.

I hope I pick another winner this year. That is why I will be voting for the eventual Republican candidate. I will not vote for Hillary or Obama Neither has the background.

In the Republicans, I would prefer to vote for a governor over a senator. But it looks like Senator McCain just may take it. I do not like voting for Senators because they come to the office of the President never having to make Decisions. As a Senator or Congressman your place is to attend meetings and vote on bills. You do not have to manage anything or make decisions.

The only decision Hillary ever made is which color pantsuit to wear.
