Special Exhibit - Artist to Icon: Early Photographs of Elvis, Dylan and The Beatles (Museum) Event Beginning Date: 1/26/2008
Event Ending Date: 5/26/2008 Monday - Saturday 9am - 5 pmSunday & Holiday 1 -Kalamazoo Valley MuseumImagine traveling on the road with a 21-year-old Elvis Presley, watching the Beatles perform in the Kaiserkeller Club in Hamburg in 1960, or being present when Bob Dylan plugged in his electric guitar. This exhibit includes 48 rarely seen black-and-white photographs by five photographers, and provides a glimpse into the lives of these aspiring artists before they became rock ānā roll legends. Audio kiosks featuring oral histories with each photographer offer visitors colorful stories behind the images on display. First Floor Gallery. Free. Artist to Icon: Early Photographs of Elvis, Dylan and the Beatles was created by Experience Music Project, Seattle, Washington.
And don't forget a trip to the Planetarium, too!
