Find the car you like, note the sticker price, then find out how much the dealer paid for it--the much-lowerinvoice price--from Websites likewww.edmunds.com (http://edmunds.com/)and www.kbb.com (http://www.kbb.com/). Offer the salesman 1 percent more than the invoice price and agree to a figure that's no more than 3 percent above the invoice price. If the manufacturer is offering dealers "marketing support" to move your model (the Websites above will tell you), offer less. That kickback guarantees the dealer a profit, which means he can take even less from you. When you're ready to haggle, bring all this information with you!

Also, you can find crash-test results and rollover ratings on almost any make and model of cars dating back to 1990 atwww.safercar.gov. (http://www.safercar.gov/)
